EXHIBITION SHOTS

Library of Spoons II brings together a collection of handmade studio fragments arranged in curated spaces within a handmade wooden bookshelf. Recalling Art Nouveau’s ideology of affecting all interior items with an artistic sensitivity, the domestic and surreal objects on display include ceramic spoons balanced on leather pillows, leaning against the bookcase walls, or fastened with leather strips; jacquard-knitted textiles based on stylised botanical representations, hand-embroidered napkins and other objects from the studio. The Spoon, as the primary, childhood tool for the consumption of food, takes on fantastical forms that prioritise its aesthetic rather than functional qualities.
